Radiant and First Coast Community Credit Union Are Joining Together to Serve North Florida

First Coast Community Credit Union is preparing for an exciting new chapter: a pending merger with Radiant Credit Union. Together, we’ll form a stronger, more connected credit union – rooted in shared values and focused on our members.

FCCCU’s Board of Directors voted to seek a merger partner that would provide improved and expanded member services, security, lower rates and fees, enhanced digital and electronic products and services to FCCCU’s membership. The Board wanted to be certain that the staff of FCCCU was given the opportunity for career growth and the best benefits. FCCCU’s members and staff are a priority for FCCCU’s Board. It was important to FCCCU’s Board that the Partner be local, i.e., Radiant’s Corporate Office is in Gainesville, Florida and they have a branch in Hawthorne; we are neighbors. Also, Radiant is already approved to serve Putnam, Flagler, and St. Johns Counties. We are a lot alike; we are both community-based and serve a predominantly rural Membership. We both use Symitar Episys for our core system and Doeren Mayhew for our auditors. After conducting their research, the Board of FCCCU voted unanimously that Radiant Credit Union was the right “FIT!”

This partnership allows both Credit Unions to combine resources, expand member services, and better serve all members across a larger geographic area. By partnering, we strengthen our financial position, elevate technology, enhance employee career growth, and improve member benefits.

All employees will be retained! We need EVERYONE to serve OUR members as we become one Team. Day-to-day responsibilities will initially remain the same. Over time, opportunities for career growth and advancement in the larger combined organization are more available. Additional training and potential role enhancements will also be available as we integrate operations.

Once approved by the Membership, FCCCU will operate as First Coast Community Credit Union Powered by Radiant Credit Union before transitioning to the name Radiant Credit Union at a later time.

All existing branches will remain open to serve both combined memberships.
